Finally, Baby Kimye has a name! E! News has confirmed that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's little daughter is named - North West.
A source close to the couple confirms to E! News that the girl's name is North West, with no middle name. According to a source, "They will call her Nori for short!"
"She has black straight hair! Lots of it! Looks like a good mix of both of them (Kanye and Kim) but more like Kim," says the source.
North West? Choi! Poor baby! A few months ago we heard Kanye planned to name his child North, but who knew he would go through with it? Comedians will have a filled day with this name. Read some of the things people are already saying on Twitter after the cut...

"Kim & Kanye almost named the baby South West, until they heard the infant would then be required to make 3 daily flights to Phoenix.' - Joel McHale
'Sending poor North West my attorney's number. No one should have to go through life with a novelty name, not even a Kardashian.' - Suri's Burn Book
'Sorry North West, but I've never been a fan of One Direction.'
'We heard North West MONTHS ago. It's like an episode of House where it turns out that it actually was Lupus. What a let down.'
'Somewhere Blue Ivy is thinking, "My name isn't as bad now, is it"'
'oh good when kim and kanye’s daughter has her own fragrance it’ll be called “north, by north west”'
'The only way we can fix this and save North West is if we all change our names to North to make her feel perfectly normal.'
'Wait, #Kim and #Kanye named their kid NORTH WEST? This might be better than Blanket.'
'North West? Did Kim give birth to a baby or a compass?'
'whenever you're mad at your mom just remember she didnt name you north west'

'Y'all making fun of North West for that baby's name but she going straight to the top.......... and slightly to the left.'
'North West? Way to almost spend a minute thinking of a name.'
'Her siblings "South", "Wild Wild" and "Mae" are coming soon...'
'We need to successfully abolish bullying before North West gets to 4th grade.'
'Kim and Kanye named their baby North West. It's one of the few things in Kim's life that hasn't gone south.'
'Not even Kim & kanye's fortunes combined could pay for the amount of therapy this kid will need for being named North West.'
'Too late to change to "Knorth?

Mikel Obi set to leave Chelsea for Galatasaray

Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi is set to move to Galatasaray from Chelsea. Mikel told Sabah, a daily Turkish newspaper that the Turkey football club made an offer that he's very pleased with and is looking forward to life in Istanbul.
'I asked Drogba for advice and he told me that Istanbul is a fantastic city, that Galatasaray is a huge club and that I have to make the move. I have played at Chelsea for a long time and it's now time for me to leave.
'I'm still only 26 and it's great to receive an offer from a club (Galatasaray) playing Champions League football and doing well in the competition.'
Talks have reached an advanced level between Chelsea and Galatasaray. Chelsea won't make the move difficult and regarding my salary there won't be a problem. All that is left is for the clubs to reach an agreement.'
Mikel leaving Chelsea for Galatasaray is not a good idea, is it?

Protest in Benin after police kill and bury UNIBEN student

Students of the University of Benin yesterday Wednesday June 5th marched round the streets of Benin, protesting the death of one of their own, a final student named Ibrahim Momodu, who was allegedly killed and hurriedly buried by men of the Ogida police station, in Benin.

According to reports, Ibrahim Momodu (pictured above) was allegedly killed on May 27th by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ogida station, Carol Afebgai (pictured above, right).

According to the deceased elder sister, Rebecca Egbe, Ibrahim was shot dead and buried the next day without the family even knowing he was dead.

The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, Moses Eguavoen later told newsmen that Momodu was an armed robber, saying that a gun, bullets, two mobile phones and a bag was found on him. The family deny this. They say Momodu was not an armed robber and are asking for justice for their son.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole has promised to set up an enquiry into the incident. Watch a Channels TV report on the controversial killing after the cut...

UNIBEN student killing: DPO involved tells her own side of the story

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ogida station, CSP Carol Afegbai, has denied firing the shot that killed alleged final year student of University of Benin, Ibrahim Momodu, on May 27th during a stop and search in Benin. (If you missed the story, read it http://lindaikeji.blogspot.com/2013/06/protest-in-benin-after-police-kill-and.html)

In a press statement released recently, CSP Afegbai said a Russian made double barrel gun with 8 rounds of cartridges, 2 loaded in the gun, were found on Ibrahim (pictured above). Ibrahim's family and friends are protesting his death, denying claims he was an armed robber. Ibrahim was shot on the 27th of May and buried the next day by the police without his family being informed.

The Governor of Edo State, Governor Adams Oshiomhole and the Inspector General of Police, have ordered probe into the case to unravel the real circumstances that led to the killing.

CSP Carol Afegbai
The Nigerian Police,
Ogida Division,
Benin City.

The  On the 27th of May, 2013, at about 22:30 hours, I was on a routine check along with my orderly PC Amadi Idahosa at night. Getting to my patrol vehicle along Siloku road by Obayuwana junction, I parked and was there watching my men doing their stop and search. At that time they stopped a motor-cycle who refused to stop, eventually the bike stopped. They were two on the bike, the rider and the suspected armed robber.

Unknown to Corporal Ubi, the passenger on the bike, the alleged Ibrahim Momodu was armed with a Russian made cut to size double barrel gun with 8 rounds of cartridges, 2 loaded in the gun,
with one blackberry, one Nokia handset and a charger in his bag. At this Juncture, the passenger reached into the bag he was carrying to pull out the weapon. My orderly rushed to meet them to save the life of the corporal. The rider pushed the bike to the ground and took to his heels and my orderly PC Amadi Idahosa fired at them as they tried to flee.

At this time it was irrelevant whether the suspected armed robber was a student or not, because it was at a late hour and he was armed. The rider of the Motor Cycle who had escaped had gone to alert
the fellow cultists who were threatening to invade the station to collect the corpse, so the local government was contacted and they are the people that went ahead to bury him. I was not present and did not supervise the burial of the criminal.

There is a ban on motorcycles in Edo state that states motorcycles are not allowed on the streets after
7:30 and that was why the motor-cycle was stopped. The University of Benin has released a statement saying that Ibrahim Momodu was not a registered student presently with the University.

The reciepts of payment of fees that was being shown was actually forged and was that of Juliet Ogiadumen a student of UNIBEN with Ibrahim Momodu's picture superimposed on it. My orderly who shot is presently assisting the state CID, with information in relation to the case.
