LASU students reject school fees reduction by Governor Fashola

Lagos state University students have rejected Governor Fashola's proposed 34% and 60% across the different faculties and courses reduction in school fees.

At a press conference held yesterday June 12th in Ogba, the President of LASU Student Union Government, Nurudeen Yusuf, said the state government should spell out the proposed new fees in Naira and Kobo rather than this percentage as their parents who are responsible for the payments do not know how to calculate in percentage.

"We do not accept the 34 to 60% reduction of the government because in 2011 when the fees were increased, it was not done on percentage level; rather, they made the pronouncement in Naira and Kobo. We urge the government to come out in words as to how much will be paid by our students in Naira and Kobo and not in percentage. How do they expect our parents, the market women scrambling to pay our fees, to calculate the percentage? The government is only trying to play games with our future. We question their sincerity on this matter because the pronouncement of the fee was as a result of a visitation panel set up by the government of which the report was selectively adopted" Yusuf said

PS: In contrast to all earlier rumors and stories in circulation, I do state that Kefee wasn’t 6 months pregnant and neither did she have pre-eclampsia.

TOO SAD! Gospel SInger Kefee is dead!

According to Channels TV, it has been confirmed that Kefee passed on today,Friday.Industry sources and her close friends and entertainers have also confirmed she died this morning..If you recall,she was on a plane to Chicago when she fell into a coma,forcing the plane to make an emergency landing..She was rushed to a hospital in LA and never regained consciousness..

Life!!So so sad..RIP

The 2014 World cup began this evening June 12th with a colorful opening ceremony at the Arena de Sao Paulo in Brazil that reportedly cost around $4.5million to put together. International music stars, Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull were joined on stage by Brazilian pop-star Claudia Leitte to perform the official World Cup song 'We Are One (Ola Ola)'.

The ceremony was followed by the opening match of the tournament - hosts Brazil vs Croatia. The match ended 3-1 in favour of Brazil. And what a match it was!

I wasn't going to post this before but some of you were complaining that I didn't post anything about the world cup opening ceremony/match...(Like y'all didn't watch it live...*hiss*). Lol. Anyway, that's why it's coming late...:-).. See plenty more photos after the cut...

RMD reacts to bad health rumour, says I'm in th best shape of my life

There have been rumours both online and on entertainment magazines that Nollywood icon and Delta State Commissioner for Culture & Tourism, Richard Mofe-Damijo, has health issues probably because of his recent weight loss. I saw him a while back and he looked more handsome than ever!

Anyway, RMD has reacted to the rumours, saying he's better than ever.

"What else do you need? You saw me on stage, did I look sick? People are probably so disappointed to see me looking so much better they want the news to be true. Unfortunately for them, I am in the best shape of my life. 

"Have you not taken photos of me. It amazes me how people cling to bad news. I am a public servant in Delta State, I go to work every day. I am not sick. I changed my lifestyle and lost weight and I am looking better than I have ever looked in my adult life. For the records, I am not on Facebook and my colleagues that they used their names as those who posted the stories have all denied it.”RMD told Weekend Groove

Kefee Reported to Be Gradually Regaining Consciousness

We reported earlier that singer, Kefee who had been in a coma for over a week was later diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and remained in hospital [read here]. Now reports say Kefee is gradually coming awake and hopes are that she will become fully conscious soon.

Although not much is known as at the time of this report, Stella Dimorkokus broke the news from close sources and says she will get details shortly!

Adam Levine Wants To Apologize to all His Ex-Girlfriends Before Marrying Behati Prinsloo

As Adam Levine prepares for his summer wedding to South African model Behati Prinsloo, he is reaching out to some of his ex-girlfriends to make amends, because the Maroon 5 frontman wants his marriage to be free from the burden of his past sins to other women.

This decision makes sense going by reports that for Nina Agdal, his immediate past girlfriend before Behati, Adam did not break up with her or inform her that he wanted to move on. Instead, he ignored her phone calls for months and only told her about his new engagement to Behati using a text message.

But she's not the only one Adam Levine is feeling some guilt about the way he may have handled their relationship, he wants to go back to every single ex and apologize.

Robin Thicke Will Name Forthcoming Album Paula After Estranged Wife

Robin Thicke really wants to get his girl back, that is, his estranged wife, Paula Patton, whom he seperated from earlier this year. The singer will even go as naming his forthcoming album after his estranged wife Paula Patton. The couple have been together over 20 years, they started dating in high school, got married in 2005 and they have a four-year-old son together.

According to US Magazine, the new album will be out on July 1st and will be named “Paula“.

It will include the single "Get Her Back," which the chart-topping star debuted at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards in May. Introducing the song onstage, Thicke said, "All right, y'all, help me get her back."


Together since high school, the longtime sweethearts announced their decision to separate back in February, after nearly 9 years of marriage. A source told Us Weekly at the time that Thicke "wanted to save their marriage, but it was Paula's choice and she ended it." The insider added, "Robin does not want this divorce."

Since then, the "Give It 2 U" singer has made several public attempts to woo his ex, with whom he shares son Julian, 3. Days after their split, he dedicated a song to Patton at a concert in Fairfax, VA., telling the crowd, "For y'all that don't know, me and my wife separated but I'm trying to get my girl back."
