MOTHERS LOVE
A
poor couple who lived in a small village in Southern KENYA. They had
only one son. Gave him the education they managed . Son graduated as an
Engineer in the nearby University.
Eventually, got married to a rich girl. Initially, they lived with his parents in the village.
Soon the wife got tired of village life and persuaded the husband to move to the city leaving the old parents in the village.
As time passed by the husband saw an advert in the newspaper about a vacancy in Juba (Sudan).
The Mother prayed for him a blessing and told him not to forget them.
He was successful and lived in Juba for years with his wife.
Regularly he used to send money to parents. Eventually with time he stopped and forgot about his parents ever existed.
Every sunday he went to church to pray God and immediately after that
he used to see someone telling him in a dream that his Prayer was not
accepted.
One day he related story to his Pastor who advised him to go back to Kenya to visit his parents.
The man flew to Sudan and reached the boundary of the village. Everything had changed. He could not locate his parents' house.
He asked a young boy about the where abouts of his parents.
The boy directed the man to a house and said:
"In this house lives an old blind lady who lost her husband five years
ago. I also hear people saying that, She has a son who migrated to Sudan
40 years ago and never came back again." the boy continued, "The Old
lady has been crying, longing to see his son"
Son kept quiet and enterered the home and finds his mother on the bed. He tip-toed as not to wake her up.
He hears the mother whispering or mumbling something. He gets closer to hear her voice. This is what the mother was saying:
"God ! I am now very old and blind. My husband just died. There is NO
HUSBAND to lower me in my grave when I die. So please send my only son
to fullfill my last wish. "
This is the ending of a story where the PRAYERS of a mother is accepted.
A human body can bear only 45 del (unit) of pain. But at the time of
giving birth, a mother feels up to 57 del(unit) of pain. This is similar
to 20BONES GETTING FRACTURED, all at the same time!!
LOVE UR MUM ALWAYS EVEN WHEN YOU MARRY REMEMBER HER ALWAYS.

FLASH BACK
The
news of the cruise ship Costa Concordia hitting a rock and sinking at
the beginning of a planned Mediterranean Sea cruise on the Tuscan Island
of Giglio on January 12, 2012, brought shock to the world at large.
This was because the Costa Concordia, one of the world’s largest cruise
liners (roughly weighing twice as the Titanic) sinking could very well
result in a loss greater than that of the Titanic in the early twentieth century.
But in scenarios different from what was witnessed during the Titanic
era, the engineering world has been called to quick action due to the
growing concern of environmental and other sundry hazards the continued
presence of the wrecked ship in the Tuscan waters could cause to the
ecosystem and marine business at large.
But the Nigerian
response to this great challenge posed by the increasing cases of
abandoned vessels and ship wrecks is short of expectations. The huge
costs for this removal/recovery projects may be prohibitive, but the
harm and the dangers they would cause if unattended to will be
astronomical and of inestimable value.
As engineers primarily
strive to make the world a better place for all, the Costa Concordia
Salvage process should serve as a wakeup call to our marine engineers in
conjunction with the marine/maritime regulatory agencies like the
Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigerian Maritime Administration and
Safety Agency (NIMASA) to take the right step and clear our waterways of
all ship wrecks and abandoned vessels.

It’s Untrue That I Have Another Kid – Saidi Balogun

While it may not be too difficult to understand the sentiment the elders are trying to play up through the adage, modernity has since laid the wisdom in it to rest.
Nowadays, ‘modern people’ do not even wait for an outsider to count their children for them. They do so themselves. Apart from the fact that you have to officially declare the number of children you have on certain occasions, many people, following what obtains in the western tradition, are eager to ‘broadcast live’ not only the number of kids they have, they also take to the social media to announce to the world as soon as they get pregnant. And seconds after the baby is born, its picture is already everywhere.
Popular Yoruba actor, Saidi Balogun, says he neither grumbles with tradition nor in any way tries to resist the influence of civilisation. But he adds that he detests something: the idea of people carrying rumours about his family status. Indeed, he is currently angry with some of Nigerian bloggers who, he notes, are fond of publishing false stories about celebrities.
“Recently, the bloggers said I had another child from one woman. This is not true, and none of them bothered to call me to verify whether or not it was true.”
The actor/producer, who recently premiered a new movie – You or I – was spotted at Shoprite, in Ikeja Mall on Sunday, where he went to shop alongside his children. On sighting the fair-complexioned actor, it was natural for the correspondent to look out for probably a woman – other than Balogun’s estranged wife, Fatiha – who could be carrying a baby, based on the rumour that filtered through the Internet recently.
He declined further comments on the domestic end as, according to him, many people tend to misinterpret utterances of celebrities too easily.
On his romance with Ibadan – he is said to have recently been seen with Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State – Balogun explained that he only ‘returned home’ because of what he has observed in Ibadan.
“There we go again o!” he said jovially. “The fact is that I am a native of Ibadan. I am from the Kobomoje area of the city. I am part of the family of Chief Lekan Balogun, who was murdered some years back. What happened is that when I visited Ibadan recently, I noticed that the city has changed. Many of the major roads are now free and the dirt that used to litter everywhere has disappeared. Grasses and flowers have also surfaced in different places, like you have in parts of Lagos. So, as an indigene, I felt somehow inspired and decided to express this to the governor.”
On the way some showbiz stars now patronise government quarters, he noted that what mattered was the intention, while adding that, that one is an artiste does not mean he does not have anything to contribute to governance.

Man Charged With Fraud Begs Judge To Send Him To Jail

A 35-year old university graduate, Adesokan Ifeoluwa, who allegedly
took N1.4 million from his lover with a promise to marry her, but
ditched her and used the money to marry another woman, has pleaded with a
judge to send him to prison.
Ifeoluwa is facing a three-count charge of felony, obtaining under
false pretence and stealing before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting in
Ejigbo.
He broke down in tears after he learnt that his wife identified as Kemi, whom he used the money to marry, had equally left him.
He also changed his earlier plea of not guilty to guilty and asked the court to jail him when this realisation dawned on him.
The Ekiti State-born graduate of Public Administration from Ado-
Ekiti State University, said he preferred to be in prison since Kemi has
also left him because of his predicament which started nine months ago.
However, he could not secure the sentence after the prosecutor, Mr Adeleye Oluwafemi, presented the facts and sentence.
He objected to some of the facts presented before the court.
The court presided over by Mr P. E. Nwaka entered not guilty plea for
him following his counsel’s request and adjourned the matter.
Ifeoluwa allegedly left a middle aged woman, Amusa Taiwo, in the
lurch after she allegedly gave him N1.4 million with the hope that he
would marry her in Lagos.
Instead of fulfilling his own part of the agreement to marry her,
Ifeoluwa used the money to marry Kemi who eventually dumped him.
Consequently, the jilted Taiwo who felt betrayed and duped, demanded
her money back from him, and when it was not forthcoming, she went to
the police at Idimu Division to report the alleged fraud.
Ifeoluwa was arrested by the police and charged to court with fraud.
He is facing a three-count charge of felony, obtaining under false
pretence and stealing, under the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State of
Nigeria.
While he was facing trial at the court, another woman complainant
appeared and told the court that she suffered a similar fate in the
hands of Ifeoluwa and the matter was still at court three, Otta
Magistrate’s Court, Ogun State, where he allegedly jumped bail.
The complaint urged the court to order his re-arrest for him to come to Otta to face his trial.
Narrating what happened, Ifeoluwa, 35, told our correspondent that he
is from Ekiti State and read Public Administration at Ado-Ekiti
University.
He said Taiwo was his lover before they parted ways.
The defendant admitted before the court that Taiwo was his lover and
he wanted to marry her but things went wrong along the line and the
marriage plans did not work out.
He said he actually collected the money from her and did not steal it
as she alleged, adding that she was angry because the marriage plans
failed.
He also admitted that he had another woman he wanted to marry before
he met Taiwo and said the money assisted him to settle down with the
other woman and promised to pay her back.
Taiwo, who was still shocked about what happened, alleged that he
collected all the money from her under false pretence to execute a
contract and raise more money for their marriage.
She said after he collected the money, he bolted away.
On how she met Ifeoluwa, she said she met him at the Winners Chapel church in Ogun State.
The court, however, granted him bail in the sum of N700,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was subsequently remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri pending when he will meet the bail conditions.
When the matter came up after several adjournments, he changed his
plea hoping he would be sentenced, but was disappointed as his counsel
asked the court to take plea of not guilty. The court consequently
entered not guilty plea for him and adjourned the matter till 4 December
2013 for trial.
