A
Chinese worker engaged in the rehabilitation of the Jos-Kafanchan Rail line
was yesterday shot dead by unknown gunmen in Kirim, village, Kaura Local
Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State, a border community with Plateau
State.
Two
of the Chinese workers who also sustained grave injuries were rushed to the
Kafanchan General Hospital, and later taken to Abuja.
Also,
alleged bandits killed a villager, Musa Adamu in Anzare village in Sanga
Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Saturday Vanguard also learnt that
two of the suspected bandits who were later identified in Gwantu town,
exchanged gunfire with policemen, in which one was killed and the other
captured.
It
was not clear why the two Chinese were shot, but information at the disposal of
Saturday Vangaurd said that unknown men came from the bush, ambushed the
Chinese who were in a trolly car supervising labourers and open fire on
them, instantly killing one. Two were left with serious injuries as
they were later rushed to the Kafanchan General Hospital before being
transfeed to Abuja for further medical attention.
It
was also said that the bandits who were holed up in a bush in Anzare
village, turned around to pursue the villagers who had planned to attack
them.
“They
opened fire from afar, and were advancing towards us. Since non of us was armed
with a gun, we started running for our dear lives.”
