Better days...Justin Bieber, right, kisses his mum Pattie Mallette. Mallette has urged people to pray for her son, who is reportedly abusing "sizzurp |
Pattie Mallette, who gave birth to
Bieber when she was just 17, has opened up about her concerns for her famous
son.
Mallette, who is deeply religious,
has said that the world her son inhabits is a dangerous influence on him,
reports The Sun.
She said: “I think so many people go
into the entertainment industry with amazing Christian roots and they go in
with the right morals and they get influenced somehow.
“I think it’s important to pray for
leaders and people of influence and God has put (Justin) in this place of
influence.
“I ask that people keep me and Justin in their minds. I pray for him every day.”
It’s been widely reported that
Bieber’s family and “team” are so concerned by his erratic behaviour, that
they’ve been urging him to go to rehab.
The Canadian star’s alleged use of a
dangerous concoction called Sizzurp, containing the drug codeine plus alcohol
and cannabis, is creating serious concerns among those close to him.
But Mallette, who struggled with
addiction as a young woman, says that she doesn’t hold her son’s bizarre
behaviour against him.
“I started self-medicating with drugs
and alcohol.
“I got in with the wrong crowd. I
ended up stealing and even dealing drugs.
“Everything sort of came to a head by
the time I was 17, when I tried to commit suicide.
“People pressured me to have an
abortion. But I had a very strong feeling that I was doing the right thing. It
was the best decision of my life.
“I pray that what happened to me will
happen for everyone, for people that are struggling with pain, depression and
hopelessness.
“If Justin’s struggling, don’t kick
him when he’s down or condemn him - pray for him.”
Clearly, though, Biebs has other
plans than heading to his nearest church.
He’s just uploaded a photo of him
smoking a big, fat Cuban cigar, adding, “I’m in Cuba. I love Cubans.”
